Fenway Sports Group (FSG) has reached an agreement to sell around one-third of their stake in Liverpool Football Club to a consortium led by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, according to a reliable journalist. This deal is expected to be announced this week and would take the club's value to $6 billion.

The consortium also includes Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin and Amit Bhatia, the son-in-law of Indian billionaire Lakshmi Mittal. This sale comes after FSG sold a minority stake in Liverpool to global sports investment firm Dynasty in 2023.

FSG acquired Liverpool from Tom Hicks and George Gillett on October 15, 2010, and have since led the club to two Premier League titles and one Champions League win.

In a statement, FSG's owners expressed their pride in the club's achievements under their ownership. They acknowledged that there have been tough times too, but emphasized their commitment to the long-term health and stability of the club.
