Bezos Unveils Amazon's AI-Powered Growth Strategy Amid Stock Sales Controversy
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos's stock sales have raised eyebrows among investors, but he maintains that this move is part of an established trading plan. Over eight months ago, Bezos set a strategy to sell Amazon shares worth over $4 billion, which has now been fulfilled.
In an interview with Fortune magazine, Bezos outlined his vision for Amazon's future growth, centered on artificial intelligence and custom silicon. The company is investing heavily in these areas, with projected capital expenditures of $200 billion in 2026.
Bezos emphasized that Amazon's success stems from its 'customer-first' approach and continuous innovation, rather than massive scale. He noted that the custom chip business has the potential to become a new major pillar for the company, alongside its Marketplace platform, Prime membership program, and cloud services.
Despite Bezos's stock sales putting short-term pressure on Amazon's share price, the company's fundamentals remain robust. Its latest earnings report showed 20% year-over-year revenue growth, with cloud services revenue surging 37% to over 20% of total company revenue.
