Bing Tests Displaying Favicons on Shopping Ads Carousel
Microsoft is testing a new feature on its Bing shopping ads carousel by adding favicons to the site name. This change was first spotted by Sachin Patel, who shared a screenshot of the updated ad unit on X and Search Engine Watch.
The standard shopping ads carousel typically shows only the site name, but with this test, favicons are being displayed in front of it. Favicons are small icons that represent a website's brand or identity.
While the addition of favicons may make the ads more visually appealing, it is unclear whether Microsoft will roll out this feature permanently. The company has not made any official announcements about the test or its intentions.
