Bloom Energy's Stock Price Stuck Despite Record-Breaking Earnings

Bloom Energy reported a dominant second quarter in 2026, surpassing $1 billion in revenue for the first time. The energy technology company also posted a profit of $196.2 million, marking a significant improvement from the net loss of $42.6 million in the same period last year.

Despite this stellar performance, the stock price has been choppy, with the share price fluctuating between $175.30 and $183.50 on July 28-29. This is partly due to Bloom's success over the past few years, which has raised expectations for future earnings.

The comparison with Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) is also worth noting. Nvidia experienced a similar phenomenon in 2009, when it became a poster child of the AI trade. The company's stock price climbed nearly 240% and over 170% in 2023 and 2024, respectively, but struggled to meet expectations in 2025, finishing the year up only 38.9%. Bloom Energy is now facing similar challenges.
