Blykalla Taps Microsoft to Speed Up Licensing for Lead-Cooled Reactors
Nuclear technology company Blykalla has partnered with Microsoft to streamline its licensing process for lead-cooled reactors. The collaboration involves a new computational platform that automates the evaluation of reactor data against strict regulatory criteria.
The system, developed in conjunction with Microsoft, converts complex test datasets directly into compliant technical filings. This enables Blykalla to shorten licensing preparation cycles from years to months and cut documentation time and resources by 90% without compromising nuclear safety standards.
The company is currently using the platform for active licensing bids in Sweden and the United States. In Sweden, Blykalla is moving forward with plans to construct two advanced reactor parks, while in the US, it is handling technical filings for pre-application discussions with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
