Bob Iger to lead Disney through 2026
The Walt Disney Company has extended Bob Iger's tenure as CEO through December 31, 2026. The decision, announced Wednesday, follows a unanimous vote by the company's Board of Directors, just seven months after Iger's return as CEO.
Iger, who previously led Disney from 2005 to 2020, returned in November 2022. In a press release, he highlighted the progress made in addressing structural and efficiency issues since his return, expressing optimism about Disney's long-term future.
Mark G. Parker, chairman of The Walt Disney Company, praised Iger's transformative leadership, noting his reputation as one of the world's best CEOs. This extension solidifies Iger's role in steering Disney's growth and financial returns for the foreseeable future.
