Boeing 767 Pilots' Wrong Runway Lander Sparks Concern at JFK

A Boeing 767-300 aircraft operated by ABX Air (GB) narrowly avoided disaster after attempting to land on the wrong runway at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

The pilots, cleared for landing on Runway 13L, instead aligned with Runway 13R, where other planes were operating.

A Kennedy Tower controller spotted the mistake and ordered the aircraft to go around from approximately 600 feet.

This incident occurred while one plane was departing Runway 13R and another was holding in position, posing a significant risk of runway conflict.
