Boeing and NASA Update Starliner's Troubled Future

NASA and Boeing officials are set to provide an update on the future of the Starliner spacecraft, which suffered problems during its first crewed mission. The briefing, scheduled for Monday afternoon, will focus on development and plans for regular crewed flights to and from the International Space Station.

Starliner's first crewed test flight launched astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams to the space station in June 2024 but was plagued by issues with the spacecraft's thrusters and helium leaks. As a result, NASA returned the capsule to Earth without them. However, a SpaceX Dragon capsule brought the duo back after nine months on the space station.

The update comes hours after SpaceX launched its Starship rocket into orbit for the first time, marking a major milestone for the company owned by billionaire Elon Musk.
