Boeing and Turkish Airlines Secure 150-Jet Deal for 737 MAX
Boeing and Turkish Airlines have finalized an order for up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX jets, with the airline purchasing 100 of the planes and securing options for 50 more. This agreement marks the largest single-aisle order in Turkish Airlines' history and is expected to strengthen its short- and medium-haul network.
The 737 MAX will allow Turkish Airlines to serve high-demand domestic and international routes with greater efficiency and flexibility, thanks to its range, payload flexibility, and fuel efficiency. The airline currently operates a fleet of more than 200 Boeing airplanes, including the 737 MAX, 787 Dreamliner, and 777.
This order follows a previous agreement in 2025 for up to 75 787 Dreamliners as part of Turkish Airlines' investment in fleet and network expansion. The company's chairman, Prof Murat Şeker, stated that the new Boeing aircraft will bring greater efficiency and flexibility to operations, supporting the airline's extensive network.
