Boeing Celebrates Next Generation of STEM Leaders at Annual Signing Day Events
Boeing held its annual STEM Signing Day events across five states to recognize high school students who have committed to pursuing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields in college or post-secondary training programs. The events were similar to athlete signing days, where teams and local partners showed support for the next generation of talent.
In California, Boeing partnered with the California Science Center to celebrate 26 outstanding high school seniors from South Los Angeles and Boyle Heights who are committed to pursuing STEM majors. In Illinois, students from Chicago Public Schools and Gary Community School and Charter School were honored on May 4 and 5 in collaboration with Project Exploration.
In Missouri, 25 scholarships were awarded to students, while in Washington, Boeing, the Seattle Seahawks, and Partnership for Learning honored 50 high school seniors at the Seahawks Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton. South Carolina celebrated its 10th annual STEM Signing Day, recognizing 91 high school students.
The STEM Signing Day program aims to inspire students to pursue and complete education in STEM fields and cultivate the next generation of leaders. Students who participated in the events received scholarships, certificates, Boeing merchandise, and gift cards to purchase school supplies and books.
