Boeing Contributes $250,000 to Wildfire Relief Efforts in Eastern Washington
Boeing has donated $250,000 from its Charitable Trust to support recovery efforts for communities affected by wildfires in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho.
The funds will go to the Innovia Foundation, which is channeling donations to partners assisting displaced families with immediate and longer-term needs.
At least one person has been arrested for intentionally starting a fire: Aaron Farinacci, 37, of Spokane, who allegedly admitted planning the blaze about two weeks in advance and waiting for hot, dry, and windy conditions.
The fires have burned over 10,000 acres, damaged or destroyed at least 846 structures, and forced the evacuation of roughly 65,000 people.
