Ethiopian Airlines has signed an agreement to purchase 10 Boeing cargo planes, expanding its global network and further strengthening its cargo capabilities.

The deal includes eight Boeing 777-8Fs and two 777Fs, with a catalogue value of $5 billion. However, the actual price paid by the airline was not disclosed.

Ethiopian Airlines' CEO Mesfin Tasew stated that the agreement is 'another significant milestone in strengthening Ethiopian Airlines’ cargo capabilities while supporting the continued expansion of our global network.'

The company has been looking to grow its cargo services, and this new deal should help it become a leading cargo gateway between Africa and international markets.
