Boeing Engineers Secure Big Raises as SPEEA Members Ratify Contracts
SPEEA members, who represent over 17,000 engineers and scientists at Boeing facilities in western Washington, have approved four-year contract offers from their employer with a 10% wage increase.
The approval comes after rejecting an earlier offer on August 21st, when more than 88% of union members supported strike authorization. Both groups' contracts were ratified on Thursday, with the Professional Unit approving its contract by a 67.6% yes vote, and the Technical Unit doing so by a 53.5% yes vote.
According to SPEEA, engineer pay at Boeing will rise from $152,000 to $208,000 over the life of the new contract, with technician pay projected to increase from $119,000 to $163,000.
