US Stocks Edge Up as Treasury Yields Cool, Tech Giants Lead Gains
The US stock market saw a moderate increase on Thursday, fueled by declining Treasury yields and positive earnings reports.
The S&P 500 rose 0.2%, while the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.3% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.04%. The Russell 2000, which tracks small-cap stocks, saw a 0.4% increase.
Treasury yields cooled off on Thursday, with the 10-year yield sliding to its lowest level in two months. This shift led to an uptick in stock futures, particularly for tech-heavy indices like the Nasdaq-100.
Micron Technology and Nvidia were among the biggest gainers in the semiconductor sector, with Micron's revenue quadrupling last quarter. Meanwhile, Google faced a potential $3.2 billion damages lawsuit over its alleged monopolization of digital advertising.
