Boeing and its engineering union, SPEEA, have reached a tentative contract agreement after weeks of negotiations. The deal includes higher general wage increases than the initial offer, which was rejected by union members in August.

The new four-year contract offers a 10% wage raise on October 16, followed by 4% raises plus merit-based increases from 2027 to 2030. This is a significant improvement over the previous offer, which had only 3% general wage increases.

SPEEA members are critical to Boeing's efforts to certify its 737 MAX 10 and 777-9 jets, both of which are behind schedule. The Consumer Price Index has risen 4.5% in the past year for the Seattle area, where most SPEEA members work.
