Boeing Fails to Reverse $72 Million Trade Secrets Loss in Federal Ruling
Boeing Co. lost its bid to overturn a $72 million trade secrets verdict against it in a federal court ruling on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
The aerospace giant had argued that the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit was not the correct venue to hear Zunum Aero Inc.'s appeal of the trade secrets judgment.
However, the Ninth Circuit rejected Boeing's argument, stating that the patent ownership counterclaim was not compulsory and therefore did not affect the jurisdiction of the appeals court.
