Boeing Flags Software Issue in B737 MAX Autopilot

A software issue has been identified in Boeing's B737 MAX aircraft that could potentially disengage the autopilot during go-arounds, when pilots alter the planned altitude or flight path.

The issue was flagged by Boeing last month, and an advisory was issued to pilots on how to handle such cases. In a statement, Boeing confirmed that engineers are working on a software update to permanently address the problem.

Air India Express has over 50 of these planes in its fleet, while Akasa also operates some B737 MAX aircraft. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has said it will convene a corrective action review board and take immediate action if it identifies a safety concern.
