Boeing Issues Guidance Over 737 MAX Software Glitch

Boeing has identified a software issue on its 737 MAX aircraft that could lead to the automated flight guidance system disengaging during a second landing attempt, according to reports. The company has been working on a resolution to the issue and has issued guidance to airlines operating the aircraft as a precautionary measure.

The issue affects Indian carriers, with Air India Express operating 53 737 MAX aircraft and Akasa Air having 43 of them, giving the two airlines a combined fleet of around 96 such planes. Boeing has informed all 737 operators about the software issue and provided guidance on dealing with it.

Akasa Air said it was coordinating with Boeing and confirmed that there is no impact to the safety of its operations. The airline stated that its aircraft continue to operate safely in accordance with established procedures and applicable regulatory requirements, adding that passenger and crew safety remain their highest priority.
