Boeing Lands $20 Billion Deal to Build Next-Gen US Navy Fighter Jets

The US Navy has awarded Boeing a massive contract worth $20 billion to build its next-generation fighter jets, replacing the aging F/A-18 fleet in the 2030s. The new aircraft will be part of the 'Next Generation Air Dominance Program' and will be built under the 'F/A-XX' designation.

The Pentagon made the announcement on Tuesday, marking the second time Boeing has been chosen by the US military for a sixth-generation weapons system. In March 2025, Trump announced that the US Air Force had selected Boeing to build a new stealth fighter.
