Boeing Opens Hub for Engineering Students at Washington State University

Washington State University has opened the Boeing Commons in Schweitzer Engineering Hall, a hub for mentoring, tutoring, and career services for engineering and design students.

The Boeing Commons is part of the new building's grand opening on September 18, which also included an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony. The space provides resources such as mentoring from Boeing employees, tutoring, academic support, advising, and career services to more than 4,600 engineering and design students.

Boeing donated $5 million to establish the Boeing Commons, which occupies the full ground floor of the building.

The Boeing Commons connects with existing programs, including the Boeing Scholars Program and Boeing Mentorship Program. First-year engagement programs supported by Boeing have helped increase retention rates by 13% over four years.
