Boeing Reports Software Glitch on Some 737 Max Aircraft
Boeing has reported a software glitch affecting some of its 737 Max aircraft, which may impact automated functions during certain approach procedures. The issue arises when pilots change the programmed flight path after a go-around, requiring additional steps to use automated tools.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is assessing the situation and will review Boeing's proposed fix. According to Boeing, pilots are trained to land without the automated system if needed.
Boeing engineers are working on a software update to permanently resolve the issue. The FAA has stated that it will take immediate action if it determines there's a threat to flight safety.
