Boeing Rides Rising Fighter Jet Demand Amid Global Defense Spending Boom
Boeing's defense growth prospects are looking up thanks to rising demand for fighter jets and increasing defense spending worldwide. The company is well-positioned to benefit from this trend due to its portfolio of advanced military aircraft, including the F/A-18 Super Hornet, F-15EX Eagle II, and T-7A Red Hawk.
The U.S. Navy recently awarded Boeing a $109 million delivery order for 76 outer wing panels for F/A-18 aircraft, which is expected to be completed by October 2031. This contract provides long-term visibility and underscores the continued demand for maintaining the Navy's F/A-18 fleet.
Other industry peers benefiting from rising fighter jet demand and higher defense spending include Lockheed Martin Corporation and Northrop Grumman Corporation. However, Boeing shares have risen only 6.5% in the past month compared to the aerospace-defense industry's growth of 8%, suggesting some caution is warranted.
