Boeing Sees Ghana National Airline Taking Flight Within 18 Months
Ghana's national airline is expected to take flight within 18 months, according to projections by aerospace giant Boeing.
The timeline was discussed during a meeting between President John Dramani Mahama and senior executives of Boeing in New York on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
Boeing expressed its willingness to support Ghana's efforts to revive the national carrier, provided the government puts in place the necessary structures and implementation arrangements.
The proposed partnership between Ghana and Boeing goes beyond just acquiring aircraft for the airline. President Mahama is seeking a strategic partnership that would help strengthen Ghana's aviation industry by creating skilled jobs, transferring technology, and positioning Ghana as an aviation hub for West Africa.
