Boeing Sees New Investment from EP Wealth Advisors Amid Labor Uncertainty
EP Wealth Advisors LLC made its initial investment in Boeing by buying 31,184 shares during the second quarter. The purchase was valued at approximately $6,750,000.
This is not an isolated incident; several other hedge funds have also increased their positions in Boeing. Vanguard Group Inc. raised its stake in shares of Boeing by 5.1% during the fourth quarter and now owns 70,989,438 shares worth $15,413,227,000. Bank of New York Mellon Corp acquired a new stake in Boeing valued at about $747,763,000. Deutsche Bank AG also acquired a new stake in Boeing for approximately $539,456,000.
Boeing's stock price has been affected by labor uncertainty surrounding the proposed four-year contract with the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA). A rejection could lead to a strike, which would impact production, certification, and delivery schedules. Analysts have expressed concerns that a work stoppage could interrupt Boeing's recovery.
Several brokerages have issued reports on BA, including Tigress Financial, which upped its price target from $295.00 to $305.00 and gave the company a 'buy' rating. However, Barclays downgraded Boeing from an 'equal weight' rating to an 'underweight' rating.
