Boeing Software Glitch in B737 MAX Planes May Disrupt Automated Flight Guidance

Boeing has identified a software glitch in its B737 MAX planes that may result in disengagement of the automated flight guidance system on the second attempt to land at an airport. The plane maker said it has been working to resolve the issue and has informed all operators, including Indian airlines Air India Express and Akasa Air, about the potential problem.

The glitch, which may lead to a reduction in automation during landing, is not expected to impact safety, according to Boeing. In fact, the company stressed that pilots are trained to handle such situations safely. To address the issue, Boeing has issued an advisory to all its airline partners to reset the system once a MAX landed at an airport in a second attempt.

Akasa Air spokesperson confirmed that they were in communication with Boeing and that there is no impact to the safety of their operations. However, Air India Express did not offer a comment on the matter.
