Boeing Warns of Slower Production Growth
Boeing's CEO Kelly Ortberg acknowledged on September 16 that stabilizing the production rate of its 737 MAX at 47 jets a month is taking longer than expected.
The company's shares dropped by about 2.5% immediately after his comments, and were down 4.5% for the day.
Ortberg said the largest variant of the 737 MAX, the 737-10, will be certified 'very soon', but certification has been delayed several years behind schedule and accounts for about 30% of all 737 orders.
