Boeing White-Collar Union Approves Contract Deal, Averting Strike Fears
Boeing has averted strike fears after its largest white-collar union approved a new contract offer. The Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) represents around 17,000 Boeing workers and voted to accept the four-year deal on October 2, 2026.
The agreement includes a guaranteed 10% wage increase upon ratification, annual raises of 4%, and the possibility of an additional 2% hike based on performance. About 68% of professional unit members, who are mostly engineers and scientists, voted in favor of the deal, while over 53% of technical unit members, who include designers, analysts, and technicians, also approved it.
The new contract is set to provide much-needed relief for Boeing as it deals with production and delivery delays. The company had been facing concerns over a potential strike that could have delayed certification efforts for the 737 MAX 10 narrowbody and 777X widebody, which are still in development.
