Boeing Wins $636 Million Contract for Apache Helicopter Updates
Boeing has won a significant contract to update and support the US Army's AH-64 Apache helicopter fleet. The award, worth $636 million over three years, covers complex component repair, system component support, consumable items supply, and other services for the twin-engine attack helicopters. This modification brings the total cumulative value of the contract to $1,128,815,031.
The AH-64 Apache is a highly capable aircraft used by the US Army and its allies for ground attack, armed reconnaissance, and target destruction. With over 2,700 units produced since its launch in 1975, the Apache has become an essential part of modern military operations. Boeing has manufactured the helicopter since acquiring McDonnell Douglas in 1997.
The new award is scheduled to run through April 2029 and will be centered at Boeing's facilities in Mesa, Arizona, where it assembles helicopters and produces advanced composite aerostructures. This contract solidifies Boeing's position as a leading provider of military aircraft and services, with over 800 Apaches currently in service with the US Army and an estimated 500 more used by allied defense forces.
