Boeing Wins Multi-Billion-Dollar Contract to Build Navy's Next-Gen Fighter

The U.S. Navy has awarded Boeing a multi-billion-dollar contract to produce its F/A-XX aircraft, a sixth-generation fighter designed to replace the service's fleet of F/A-18 Super Hornets.

The new fighter will feature advancements in open mission systems architecture, advanced mission systems, and operational reach and capacity.

Boeing's president and chief executive officer, Steve Parker, said it was an honor to be selected for the program and that his team is ready to execute it.

The contract is Boeing's second selection for 6th-generation fighter work, following the award of the U.S. Air Force's F-47 program in 2025.
