Boeing's Defense Business Soars to New Heights

Boeing's defense business is gaining momentum as the company continues to expand its presence in the global market. In the second quarter of 2026, the Defense, Space & Security segment saw a 13% year-over-year increase in revenues, reaching $7.5 billion.

This growth can be attributed to higher volume across the portfolio and a strong defense backlog, which stood at approximately $85 billion as of the end of the second quarter. Notably, 27% of this backlog comes from international customers, providing Boeing with exposure to global demand.

The company is also benefiting from major programs moving into production phase. The MQ-25A Stingray completed its first flight and received Milestone C in the quarter, clearing it for low-rate initial production. Similarly, the T-7A Red Hawk achieved Milestone C and began low-rate initial production.
