Boeing's Production Recovery Shows Signs of Taking Hold Amid August Delivery Decline
Boeing's deliveries in August were down to 51 jets, but its production recovery is showing signs of taking hold. The company handed over 418 aircraft through August, its strongest first eight months since 2018.
The decline in August deliveries came from fewer 787 Dreamliner handovers, with only four delivered compared to nine in the same month last year. However, deliveries of the 737 MAX remained strong, with 41 planes handed over during the month, including nine to Southwest Airlines and eight to United Airlines.
Despite this, Boeing's order book continued to grow, with 15 new orders booked in August, consisting of two 737 MAX aircraft and 13 787s. The company also had a total of 453 orders in 2026 after adjusting for cancellations.
