Broadcom Surges Ahead of Nvidia in AI Hardware Market
Nvidia is often pitted against AMD in the market for artificial intelligence (AI) hardware. However, Broadcom may be a more significant threat to Nvidia's dominance.
Broadcom is forecasted to double its AI semiconductor revenue from $115 billion in 2027 to $230 billion in 2028, making it a force to be reckoned with in the computing space.
Nvidia still grows faster than AMD, despite its larger size. However, Broadcom's growth rate far surpasses both companies, reaching 221% year-over-year in its fiscal third quarter ended August 2nd.
Broadcom's AI semiconductor revenue currently stands at $16.7 billion, which is smaller compared to Nvidia but growing rapidly due to partnerships with major clients such as Alphabet and Meta Platforms.
