Broadcom's Custom AI Chips Challenge Nvidia's Dominance
Nvidia and Broadcom are vying for dominance in the AI semiconductor market. Broadcom expects to double its AI revenue to $230 billion by FY 2028, a significant increase from its projected $115 billion in FY 2027.
Nvidia, on the other hand, has already exceeded Broadcom's projected figures, generating $96.2 billion in revenue during Q2 and expecting $108 billion for Q3. The majority of Nvidia's revenue comes from its data center division, where it is a leading player.
Broadcom's custom AI chips are gaining popularity, but they still trail behind Nvidia's GPU-based products, which have been the industry standard for nearly every computing application requiring high processing power.
