Brunello Cucinelli's AI Software Platform Aims to Revolutionize E-Commerce
Brunello Cucinelli's AI software platform, Callimacus, is being pitched as a solution to enhance e-commerce websites and apps. The platform assembles webpages in real-time based on a visitor's context, interests, behavior, and likelihood of making a purchase.
Developed inside Brunello Cucinelli, Callimacus is not just a chatbot layered onto a fixed website but a presentation system that sits above existing commerce infrastructure. It can be used with various platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Shopify.
The company has generated seven-figure revenue in its first year and expects to double those sales this year and again next year, according to Francesco Bottigliero, chief of humanistic technology at Brunello Cucinelli. Three large corporations are already developing projects using Callimacus, while around 40 more prospective clients are in discussions with the company.
Salesforce has invested in Callimacus and will help bring it to market. The deal creates an unusual new revenue model for a luxury company: Brunello Cucinelli built technology around its own understanding of discovery, storytelling, and brand identity and is now selling that expertise as enterprise software.
