The building materials sector has reported strong Q2 earnings, with companies like Sherwin-Williams (NYSE:SHW) and Carlisle Companies (NYSE:CSL) outperforming expectations.

Sherwin-Williams, a manufacturer of paints, coatings, and related products, saw its revenues increase by 7.5% year on year to $6.79 billion, exceeding analysts' estimates by 3%. The company's full-year EPS guidance also beat analysts' expectations.

Carelisle Companies, a multi-industry product manufacturer focusing on construction materials and weatherproofing technologies, reported revenues of $1.57 billion, up 8.3% year on year, outperforming analysts' expectations by 6.3%. The company had an impressive beat of analysts' organic revenue estimates and a solid beat of analysts' EBITDA estimates.

However, Resideo Technologies (NYSE:REZI) reported the slowest revenue growth among its peers, with revenues increasing by only 2% year on year. The company's full-year guidance update also missed analysts' expectations significantly.
