Burry Goes All-In on Aggressive Shorts as AI Bubble Nears Burst

Michael Burry, known for his role in the film 'The Big Short', has revealed that his current short position is more aggressive than it was during the 2020 market crash. The investor has stated that he is carrying a similar short load to what worked well for him in 2008 and 2020.

Burry's reluctance to bet against CoreWeave (CRWV) stems from its limited float, retail popularity, and potential for a short squeeze. Despite his concerns about the company's debt and business model, he is steering clear of CRWV due to the risks associated with its 'meme vibe'.

Burry's current positioning includes a larger QQQ put position representing 6% of his portfolio, as well as retained puts on Nvidia and Palantir. He has also increased his Micron short and kept an outright SOXX short as his largest bearish position.

The investor remains skeptical of the AI infrastructure boom, warning that it carries a concrete cost of capital and a potential expiration date. Burry predicts that the bubble will burst by 2028, when compute costs become too high.
