Busy Weekend Ahead for State College Airport Due to Penn State Homecoming Game

The State College Regional Airport in Pennsylvania is gearing up for one of its busiest weekends of the year, thanks to the Penn State Nittany Lions' homecoming game against the Wisconsin Badgers.

Ralph Stewart, interim director for the Centre County Airport Authority, says it's a 'tremendously busy' weekend with over 24 flights landing before Saturday and the same number leaving between Sunday and Monday. The airport's lot is already mostly full as of Thursday, with hundreds of fans expected to arrive for the game.

Among the arrivals will be a Boeing 757-200 plane carrying the Badgers team, one of the largest planes that can land at the airport. Stewart notes that showing airlines that the airport can maintain good air service and keep planes full can lead to potential new flights in the future.
