Calacanis Guarantees 1 Billion Optimuses in 10 Years
Jason Calacanis, a well-known venture capitalist, made some bold predictions about Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot. He believes that Optimus will become one of humanity's greatest products, potentially even eclipsing Apple's iPhone in sales and value.
Citing his recent experience watching an Optimus demonstration that has not been publicly shown, Calacanis emphasized the advanced hardware and 'brain' of Tesla's robot. He confidently predicted that Optimus would win 35 out of 51 events at the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, where over 2,000 robots from 666 teams competed.
Calacanis also forecasted an astonishing number for the future adoption of Optimus: 1 billion units by 2036. He stated his prediction with absolute certainty, saying 'I will guarantee you we will be sitting here in 10 years and there will be 1 billion Optimuses in the world.'
Tesla is currently shifting its production lines to accommodate the Optimus line, a move that CEO Elon Musk confirmed earlier this year. However, Musk also warned about the challenges of scaling up robot manufacturing, stating it would require creating an entirely new supply chain.
