Cargo Plane Crashes at Miami Airport, Killing Five
A commercial Boeing 767 cargo plane operated by 21 Air overran the runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon, resulting in five fatalities and multiple injuries.
The aircraft, which was carrying Amazon cargo from San Juan, Puerto Rico, was attempting to land on runway 30, a 9,000-foot-long strip. However, it failed to stop before reaching the end of the runway, striking multiple vehicles and catching fire.
According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Chief Raied 'Ray' Jadallah, five people died in the crash, while three others were left in critical condition and taken to a trauma center. Two more injured individuals were transported to a local hospital.
The pilots of the aircraft were removed from the plane and are being treated by medical responders.
