Carina Walker Named Head of YA at Amazon MGM Studios

Amazon MGM Studios has announced Carina Walker as its new Head of YA (Young Adult), following Peter Friedlander's confirmation that her appointment is a perfect fit to lead the company's industry-leading vertical. Carina Walker, who has spent 9.5 years working across drama, international, and most recently developing a deep understanding of the YA space at Amazon, was chosen for her strong talent relationships and creative instincts.

Walker's expertise can be seen in the development of shows like 'Off Campus', 'Every Year After', and 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith'. Her appointment comes days after Andy Weil, a Netflix executive, joined as Head of Comedy. Friedlander has now finalized his executive team, which includes Kara Smith (Drama), Blair Fetter (Worldbuilding), Jenn Levy (Nonfiction), Melissa Wolfe (Animation), Walker (Young Adult), and Weil (Comedy).
