Caterpillar CEO Unloads $26 Million in Shares Amid Strong Q2 Results

Caterpillar CEO Joseph Creed made significant changes to his stock portfolio in mid-August. On August 28, he sold approximately $26 million worth of shares. This sale took place after exercising employee stock options that had been granted under the Caterpillar Inc. 2014 Long-Term Incentive Plan on March 1, 2021.

The exercised options allowed Creed to acquire shares valued at around $9.8 million. Additionally, he disposed of 12,002 shares to cover tax liabilities associated with the option exercise. These shares were valued at approximately $9.8 million.

Following these transactions, Mr. Creed directly holds 39,386 shares of Caterpillar common stock. He also indirectly holds 11,839 shares through a 401(k) plan, based on a statement dated July 31, 2026.
