Caterpillar Crushes Q2 Earnings Expectations with Record Revenue
Caterpillar Inc., the heavy machinery manufacturer, released its Q2 earnings report on July 26. The company's top and bottom lines beat expectations.
The company reported a revenue of $14.35 billion in Q2, exceeding analysts' forecast of $13.63 billion. This represents an increase of 23% year-over-year. Caterpillar also posted net income of $4.36 billion, surpassing estimates of $3.59 billion.
The company's sales growth was driven by higher demand for construction and mining equipment, as well as increased prices. However, the COVID-19 pandemic and supply chain disruptions continue to pose challenges for the industry.
