Caterpillar Invests Rs 150 Crore in Andhra Pradesh Manufacturing Facility
Caterpillar Inc, a US-based Fortune 500 company, is setting up a manufacturing unit in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, India. The facility will be constructed with an investment of Rs 150 crore and is expected to begin production by December 2028.
The proposed plant will produce bulldozers, wheel loaders, heavy mining trucks, and hydraulic mining machinery used for excavation. This move aligns with the Andhra Pradesh government's goal of attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) worth US$10 billion over a five-year period under its 'Industrial Policy 2024-29'.
Caterpillar has already established a manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu, India, and is now expanding its presence in the country. The company is renowned for manufacturing heavy construction and mining equipment, industrial turbines, and other machinery.
