Caterpillar Puts Millions into Arkansas Workforce Development
Caterpillar, a global leader in heavy equipment manufacturing, has announced a significant investment to advance the Arkansas workforce. The company's initiative, part of its $100 million 'Building the Future Workforce Initiative', aims to prepare workers for modern manufacturing and industrial technical jobs.
The investment of up to $3 million is intended to spark interest in manufacturing careers, strengthen community connections, identify innovations in worker training delivery, and find successful solutions across the country. Caterpillar employs over 530 people in Arkansas and works with 60 local suppliers.
According to Christy Pambianchi, Caterpillar's chief human resources officer, the company wants to accomplish four goals: sparking interest in manufacturing careers, strengthening community connections, identifying innovations in worker training delivery, and sharing successful solutions nationwide. The initiative includes partnerships with the University of Arkansas, Pulaski Technical College, Little Rock Regional Chamber, and Academies of Central Arkansas.
