Chevron and Egypt Seek Faster Progress on Aphrodite Gas Field Deal

Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has met with Chevron executives to accelerate agreements connecting Cyprus' Aphrodite gas field to Egyptian infrastructure. The project aims to utilize Egypt's existing infrastructure for processing and handling gas from the Eastern Mediterranean.

Badawi emphasized the importance of closer coordination among parties to finalize the technical, financial, and commercial frameworks of the project. He also highlighted that gas cooperation between Egypt and Cyprus has high-level political support.

The talks also covered Chevron's plans to expand exploration in Egypt, including opportunities in the Western Mediterranean. The company reaffirmed its commitment to its activities and investments in Egypt and to cooperation with the ministry and its partners.
