Chevron announces leadership shakeup for 2027
Chevron has announced a major overhaul of its senior leadership team, effective January 1, 2027. Jeff Gustavson, currently president of New Energies, will take over as the company's new chief financial officer, replacing Eimear Bonner. Bonner will transition to the role of president of Oil, Products, and Gas.
Other key changes include Mark Nelson moving from vice president of Oil, Products, and Gas to vice president of Strategy and Business Development. Brent Gros, who heads the Offshore division, will assume leadership of the New Energies area.
Gustavson's new role will involve overseeing global functions such as auditing, financial control, investor relations, taxation, treasury, and corporate planning. Bonner will focus on ensuring safe and reliable operations, disciplined capital allocation, and improving the value chain for better performance.
Nelson will be tasked with identifying and developing initiatives to strengthen Chevron's portfolio, enhance competitiveness, and support long-term growth. Gros will lead projects related to ecological transition and AI deployment across the company.
Chevron's president and CEO, Mike Wirth, highlighted the leadership team's operational experience, strategic perspective, and ability to deliver results, emphasizing their importance in navigating the evolving energy landscape.
