Chevron Announces Major Leadership Changes for 2027
Chevron is preparing for a significant leadership shakeup, with key executives set to take on new roles starting January 1, 2027. Eimear Bonner, currently the company's Chief Financial Officer, will become president of the Oil, Products & Gas business. Bonner will oversee operations across Chevron's oil, products, and gas value chain, focusing on capital allocation, asset performance, and value chain optimization.
Mark Nelson, who currently serves as vice chairman and executive vice president of Oil, Products & Gas, will shift his focus to Strategy and Business Development. His new role will involve identifying and advancing opportunities to strengthen Chevron's portfolio and long-term growth. Jeff Gustavson, currently president of New Energies, will succeed Bonner as CFO, overseeing global financial activities.
Brent Gros, the current president of Offshore, will take over as president of New Energies. In this role, Gros will lead Chevron's lower-carbon businesses, including hydrogen, power, carbon capture, offsets, and biofuels. He will also oversee the company's artificial intelligence strategy.
Mike Wirth, Chevron’s Chairman and CEO, praised the incoming leaders, noting their operational expertise, strategic perspective, and ability to deliver results. The changes are part of Chevron's efforts to position itself for success in an evolving energy landscape.
