Chevron City to Surf Raises Thousands in Perth
This year's Chevron City to Surf in Perth was a resounding success, with near-perfect weather and tens of thousands of participants raising money for genU.
The event, which has been running since 1975, is WA's longest-running community fun run and aims to support Australians living with disabilities.
On Sunday morning, almost 35,000 people took over the streets, with many dressing up in colorful costumes to add to the festive atmosphere.
Among the participants were first-time runners Robbie McAfee and Tyrone Pepperell, who wore old-school outfits that they had hastily put together after a trip to Spotlight.
'It was pretty hard in the costumes,' Robbie said. 'We were thinking about wearing them to our after party, but we're just going to stink.'
The event brought the crowds together with free carnival rides, live entertainment, refreshments, and plenty of food for the entire family.
