Chevron has licensed its surfactant technology to ZL Chemicals Ltd, allowing the company to commercialize it for use in shale and tight reservoirs. Under the agreement, ZL will market products and services under the Vantis brand using the licensed technology.

The technology is designed to support resource recovery in unconventional reservoirs, including enhanced oil recovery programs and well-optimization efforts. According to Chevron's chief technology and engineering officer, Ryder Booth, 'Technology creates more value when it can be applied broadly.'

ZL will handle commercialization and provide services ranging from laboratory evaluation and quality control through application design, on-site deployment, and field execution. The company plans to offer the technology as a turnkey service to operators seeking to enhance recovery and extend the productive life of their assets.
