Chevron Overhauls Leadership Ahead of 2027
Chevron Corporation has announced a series of senior leadership changes set to take effect on January 1, 2027. Mark Nelson, currently vice chairman and executive vice president of Oil, Products & Gas, will retain his role as vice chairman but shift his focus to Strategy and Business Development. In this new capacity, Nelson will be tasked with identifying and advancing opportunities to strengthen the company’s portfolio.
Eimear Bonner, the current Chief Financial Officer, will transition to the role of president of Oil, Products & Gas. Bonner will oversee operations across the entire value chain and manage capital allocation. Jeff Gustavson, who currently leads New Energies, will step into the role of Chief Financial Officer, taking charge of audit, investor relations, tax, treasury, and business planning activities worldwide.
Brent Gros, the current president of Offshore, will become president of New Energies. In this role, Gros will lead Chevron’s lower carbon energy initiatives, including hydrogen, power, carbon capture, offsets, and biofuels. He will also oversee the company’s artificial intelligence strategy. Mike Wirth, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, praised the incoming leaders, noting their operational expertise and strategic perspective.
The leadership changes reflect Chevron’s ongoing efforts to balance its traditional oil and gas operations with its growing focus on lower carbon energy initiatives.
